TRU WolfPack baseball team got back to their winning ways as they took both games of an exhibition doubleheader Wednesday, April 20, against Fraser Valley Collegiate Baseball Group. The scores were 7-5 and 7-4.
Regan Gillis (Fort McMurray, Alta.) started game one for the WolfPack. He threw two shutout innings, allowing four hits. He struck out one batter. Ryan Faubert (Sudbury, Ont.) threw three innings, giving up three runs on three hits. He also walked two batters and hit two batters. Bryant Jameus (Kamloops) threw the last two innings, giving up two runs on one hit. He walked one and hit one.

Ryan Faubert – 3 innings, 3 hits, 3 runs, 2 BB, 2 HBP, 0 K

Malcolm Upton (Maple Ridge) led the offense in game one, going 2-2 with a triple, a RBI, a walk, a stolen base and a run scored. Ethan Mohan (Calgary) went 2-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored. Blayne Halland (Kamloops) went 1-3 with a RBI single.
Tony Tabor (White Rock) also had a single and run scored while Taylor Van Ham (Medicine Hat, Alberta) and Tyler Hodder (Fort McMurray, Alta.) collected a RBI each. Jayse Wilson (Strathmore, Alta.) and Evan Douglas (White Rock,) each scored a run.

In game two, Joel Pineau (Calgary) threw two innings, allowing no hits and he only walked one batter. He also struck out two. Nelson Lipszyc (Calgary, Alberta) and Ryan Lehman (Beaumont, Alberta) both threw two innings and both gave up two runs each. Josh Hillis (Calgary, Alberta) threw a perfect 7th inning.

Ethan Mohan, Connor Rogers (Surrey) and Blayne Halland all got on base in the first inning because of errors by Fraser Valley. Rogers went 1-4 with two RBIs. Halland went 1-2 with a double. Jordy Cunningham (Ladner) went 1-3 with a RBI.
Evan Douglas, Robert Scarr (Tsawwassen), Riley Johnson (Kamloops), and Duncan Elgert (Calgary) each added a single while Josh Hillis walked twice.

The WolfPack will be back to regular season games this weekend, April 23-24, at Norbrock Stadium. This is the final home stand of the season for the ’Pack as they take on the Okanagan College Coyotes and the Vancouver Island Baseball Institute Mariners. Game times are noon and 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Sunday.
