Wine growers and restaurateurs are toasting Kamloops Film Festival as it returns to the downtown later in the week.
Flavours & Flicks is a new 10-day event celebrating local wines, food and film in the city, a partnership between the Kamloops Wineries Association, the film festival and participating restaurants.
Guests can enjoy dining from a specially prepared feature menu at one of the participating restaurants and then head to the Paramount Theatre to watch one of this year’s 20 festival screenings.
From March 3-12, guests can enjoy a delicious culinary experience at any of the participating restaurants, where each chef has put together a specially prepared three-course feature menu priced at $35-$45. Complimenting each menu, at an additional cost, will be a selection of local Kamloops wine pairings from Harper’s Trail, Monte Creek Ranch and Privato.
“It is all about getting people out of the house and out on the town to celebrate the best of what Kamloops has to offer” says Trish Morelli, executive director of the wineries association. “Combining local wines with the culinary arts and the performing arts offers endless opportunities and is a culture that we would like to see more of in Kamloops.”
The restaurants involved include: the South Thompson Inn; Hoodoos at Sun Rivers; Terra, Brownstone; Fireside Steakhouse; Commodore; Mittz Kitchen; Romeo’s Kitchen; Blue at Hotel 540; Prime Grill at Sheraton Four Points; Dunes Golf Course; and Citrus.
Restaurant reservations should be booked directly through individual restaurants
