Vehicles hit buildings twice in one day

September 6, 2016 4:42 P.M.

Not one but two vehicles crashed into buildings in separate accidents Tuesday.

Around 9:40 a.m., Kamloops RCMP responded to a single-vehicle accident in the 1300 block of Hillside Drive, where a vehicle went right through the front doors of Marks Work Wearhouse.

The crash caused extensive damage to the front of the building and the vehicle. Neither the driver, sole occupant of the vehicle, or anyone in the store was injured.

A second motor vehicle accident occurred around 2:15 p.m. at the North Kamloops Library. A vehicle jumped the sidewalk and struck the brick facade of the building. Again, both the vehicle and the building sustained serious damage, but no one was injured.

Both accidents were a result of driver error and alcohol was not involved, said Sgt. Karen Delorey.
