TRU faculty representatives met with university negotiators Monday in an effort to avoid job action.

As early as today, university professors and instructors could serve 72-hour strike notice.

Two members of the TRU Faculty Association bargaining team met with university negotiators Tuesday morning after a strong strike mandate received last week by faculty members. The membership voted 80 per cent in favour of job action.

Monday's meeting lasted more than an hour with the aim of ensuring productive talks could restart.

The university told students, via its website Monday, that it expects no disruptions to exams long as talks continue.

TRUFA members have been in collective bargaining since February without results. Their lasts contract expired 18 months ago.
