RCMP have updated the condition of three children and a woman daycare worker who were struck by a car turning right at the intersection of 43rd Street and 25th Avenue in Vernon Friday morning.

Cpl. Dan Moskaluk said one of the children had to be airlifted to a hospital in Vancouver due to injuries sustained in the accident.

Another child had mild scrapes and bruises. A third child escaped unharmed while the woman suffered a leg injury.

The age and gender of the children were not released, but they were described as toddlers.

According to an eye witness, the front of the car had to be lifted by people at the scene in order to get the kids out from under the vehicle. They had been in a stroller when the accident happened.

The car may have driven over the woman's foot. A pair of shoes was left at the scene.
