Watchful eyes resulted in the return of a boat stolen earlier in the week from its river moorings.

The owner of the Zodiac inflatable called police after the boat was taken from his dock Friday, Aug. 12. Then, Wednesday afternoon, a friend of the owner saw the inflatable making its way along the Thompson River.

With the sighting, Kamloops RCMP launched their patrol boat, catching up to the suspected thieves near Pioneer PArk and arresting a man and woman, both 36 years of age.

Charged with possession of stolen property over $1,000, the pair were to appear in provincial court in Kamloops Thursday. They also had outstanding arrest warrants for possessing stolen property.
