July 21, 2016 8:44 A.M.

A Kelowna man faces multiple charges after police connected him to a break-and-enter and hit-and-run overnight Thursday.

Kamloops RCMP responded to a store alarm at 1 a.m. at the Sahali Shoppers Drug Mart and arrived to find a window pane broke with a brick.

Shortly after, a report arrived of a collision involving a pickup truck and a semi-trailer on the Trans-Canada at Hillside Drive. The pickup struck the semi before hitting a traffic barrier before its driver left the accident without stopping.

A vehicle believed to be the one involved in the accident was soon located by police in Aberdeen, its driver found in a nearby residence. Evidence recovered by police led them to believe that he was a suspect in both incidents.

The suspect, 27, was arrested on suspicion of having committed both offences. He was previously known to police.
