August 31, 2016 2:30 P.M.

A 52-year-old North Thompson resident is facing charges after allegedly exposing himself to a woman in Kelowna early Wednesday morning, Aug. 31.

Kelowna RCMP responded to an indecent act Wednesday at 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Lawrence Avenue and Ethel Street.

“Police have determined that the woman caller pulled her vehicle to the side of Lawrence Avenue to use her cellular phone when a male exposed himself to the woman as he walked past her car,” says Const. Jesse O'Donaghey.

“Police were provided with a detailed description of the suspect who fled north on Ethel Street.”

O'Donaghey says an officer quickly located an intoxicated man matching the suspect’s description on Fuller Avenue who was attempting to hide from police.

The suspect was arrested, held in custody overnight and later released.

He faces potential charges of indecent act and he is expected to appear in court on Nov. 17.

O’Donaghey says police were advised that there may have been additional witnesses in the area at the time of the incident and investigators are asking anyone with any additional information to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
