Science centre offers spring break events

Amazing things are in store at the BIG Little Science Centre through spring break.

The centre is open for the duration of the school holiday, from Saturday, March 19, to Monday, April 4 with daily and special activities.

In addition to regular displays, construction time takes place from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. daily, with Lego, Megablox, MagNext and other learning toys. As well, there is a lizard walk and talk from which kids can learn more about reptiles.

Scheduled events include:

Super Static Electricity Show, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 19 to Thursday, March 24. An interactive, fun show that introduces static electricity, explores how it works and produces static in many ways, including using van de Graaff generators. Is it time for your science centre hair-do? 

Radio-controlled flying demonstrations, 10 a.m.-noon, Tuesday, March 22. Join Mark Betuzzi, of the Kamloops Model Airplane Society, all morning. He will fly his amazing model airplanes and answer questions about model airplanes, flight and the club.

Georgous Colour Mixing club, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 26. Discover ways to mix colour with beautiful and fascinating results.

Amazing Magnetism Show, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 29 to Monday, April 4.
