Safeway gas bar robbed at knifepoint

Police are looking for a suspect who robbed the Safeway Gas Bar on Fortune Drive Tuesday night, Aug. 16.

Around 10:30 p.m. a male entered the Safeway Gas Bar. While brandishing a knife, he demanded cash and cigarettes from the two employees working at the time. After obtaining the money and cigarettes, he departed the store and the area. Neither employee was injured.

The suspect is described as six feet tall with a slim build. He had a grey patchy short beard and a ruddy face with dark skin. He was wearing a dirty blue hoody with white writing on the front and blue jeans.

Kamloops RCMP are asking anyone who may have saw the incident or who know who the suspect is to call them at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
