Just in time for the B.C. Day long weekend, resurfacing of Hwy. 1 on approaches to Kamloops has been completed, making for smoother, safer rides.
“Crews have finished resurfacing on Hwy. 1 near Monte Creek east of Kamloops, and have also completed 11 km of Hwy. 5 between Rayleigh and Heffley Creek,” said Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Todd Stone. “It is great to see more projects utilizing this made-in-British Columbia technology to rehabilitate our highways.”
The upgrades involved hot-in-place asphalt resurfacing, which produces up to 50 percent fewer emissions than conventional paving.
