Residents of a North Kamloops home have a passerby to thank for preventing a fire from causing greater damage Tuesday, July 26.
The passerby in the 300 block of Willow Street noticed a fire in the roof of the residence and alerted them as well as first responders. Kamloops Fire Rescue responded to the call around 10 p.m. and were able to bring the fire under control quickly, containing the damage to the roof and attic.
One resident and two pets were evacuated safely. No one was injured and there was no damage reported to contents of the home.
Investigators have yet to determine the cause of the blaze.
