A rush-hour collision Thursday morning at the corner of Summit Drive and Hwy. 5A caused serious damage to two vehicles but no serious injuries were reported.
Two four-door sedans cars collided at the intersection with an impact sufficient to deploy at least one vehicle's airbags.
Kamloops Fire Rescue together with RCMP responded to the accident, which occurred around 8:30 a.m. The force of the collision caused one of the vehicles to jump the sidewalk and plow in to a traffic sign. The other vehicle was left in the centre of the highway.
Traffic disruption was minimal.
An intial account on Twitter indicated that one of the drivers was trapped in a vehicle, but that was not the case.
