Banned books are on the table when Books & Brews, a non-traditional book club hosted by the TNRD Library System, gathers Tuesday, Feb. 23.
The adult book club honours Freedom to Read Week as it holds its first meeting tonight, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at The Noble Pig on Victoria Street.
Members will meet at various locations outside the library to discuss books while enjoying food and drinks.
A different topic or genre will be selected every month rather than everyone reading the same book. Attendees are asked to read a book related to a monthly theme ahead of time and come prepared to talk about it.
The second meeting will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, at Red Beard Café. The theme for that meeting will be female authors in honour of International Women’s Day.
