July 14, 2016 10:17 A.M.

Great tunes, food trucks and free ice cream add up to a memorable night out for the family at the Midsummer Music Jam in Riverside Park.

On Tuesday, July 26, BCLC and the City of Kamloops bring back the free night of entertainment at Music in the Park to benefit Kamloops Food Bank. This year’s event will be the largest yet and promises a couple new tasty twists. Concert-goers can indulge their taste buds with cuisine from the city’s most popular food trucks and BCLC will once again give away ice cream treats while quantities last.

There will be plenty of treats for the ears with some of Canada’s best country music acts. B.C. bands ME & MAE and the Chris Buck Band headline the event.

The entire community is invited to the free party at Midsummer Music Jam in Riverside Park. Food trucks open at 5 p.m., entertainment at 6 p.m. and the free concert starting at 7 p.m. There will be interactive booths with local face painters, the River City Disney Princesses, Kamloops Hula-Hoopers and much more! Food bank staff and volunteers will be on location to collect cash donations and nonperishable food items.

Music in the Park is billed as Canada’s longest-running free music festival in Canada.
