The B.C. Coroners Service today (Wednesday) announced a public inquest into the death of a 20-year-old man found dead in his cell last year.
Dylan Levi Judd, 20, was found unresponsive in his cell at Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre on Nov. 10, 2014. The inquest will take place beginning Nov. 23 at the Supreme Court in Kamloops.
Presiding coroner Larry Marzinzik and a jury will hear evidence from witnesses under oath to determine the facts surrounding Judd's death. The jury will have the authority to make recommendations aimed at preventing deaths under similar circumstances.
