Hydro vehicle, copper cable stolen

A B.C. Hydro emergency vehicle together with more than $4,000 worth of copper wire were stolen from a substation near the Logan Lake area over the weekend.

Logan Lake RCMP are seeking public assistance in locating the unique van — an emergency transport vehicle. The missing truck is a 2002 white Ford with the letters FMI on the doors and B.C. licence plate number HB1316.

Police were called after the susbstation was broken into sometime between Thursday, Aug. 18, and Monday, Aug. 22. The vehicle was stored in the substation compound. Thieves also loaded approximately 500 metres of four-conductor #8 wire and 300 metres of two-conductor # 8 wire.  

If the vehicle is spotted or if anyone has any information about the theft, they are asked to call 911 or Logan Lake RCMP at 250-523-6222, or to report it to Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
