Under Sun and Sky, Hampton Gallery’s fall art show, opens Saturday Oct. 1, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
The show features original works from two new gallery artists, Steve Coffey and Jane Armstrong. As well, Hampton co-owner Peter Stuhlmann, a gallery favourite, will also be featured.
“These paintings depict the wonder, beauty, light and colour that illustrate the show’s theme Under Sun & Sky,” said co-owner Diane Stuhlmann. “We think these paintings will resonate on many different levels with each and every person.”
Coffey, from Vulcan, Alta., paints in oil. His work, incorporating plaintive and expressive palettes of light and movement, have been widely exhibited. His paintings are in numerous private and public collections throughout North America, Europe and Asia.
Armstrong’s happy and bold florals and landscape are bursting with texture, colour, shape and form. The West Van resident’s acrylics are inspired by the warm earthy tones of France and Italy rather than the cool and subtle colours of B.C.
All three artists will be on hand Saturday.
Under Sun & Sky runs to Oct. 28.
