Five international students suffered non-life threatening injuries when a vehicle they were travelling in crashed on Hillside Drive Sunday, Sept. 4.
The TRU students, between 18 and 20 years of age, were eastbound in the 1900 block of Hillside at a high rate of speed when the driver failed to negotiate a tight corner. The Ford Fiesta left the road and wound up in the ditch. First responders answered a call around 4:30 p.m.
One of the passengers was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by Kamloops Fire Rescue personnel. All five students were taken to RIH by Ambulance with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The 18-year-old female driver has been charged with driving without due care and attention.
