Anyone who wants a say in how the province spends may wish to take note of Tuesday, Sept. 20, when the select standing committee on finance and government services consults in Kamloops.
The committee holds annual provincewide public consultations on the next provincial budget. Consultation opens Sept.15, with the release of a Budget 2017 paper by the Minister of Finance. The public can participate by presenting at a pubic hearing, making a written, audio or video submission, or by completing an online survey.
Registration to present at a public hearing opens Sept. 16.
The committee is also empowered to consider and to make recommendations on the annual reports, rolling three-year service plans, and budgets of B.C.'s eight statutory officers.
There are only three public hearings in the southern Interior, including in Cranbrook Sept. 20 and in Kelowna Sept. 21.
