Imagine the largest Mother Goose circle ever formed, topped off with a piece of cake.
Those are some of the attractions in store at the 11th annual Teddy Bear/Mother Goose Picnic at Riverside Park on Thursday, June 16.
The free family event is the wrap-up celebration for the Mother Goose program run by the Kamloops Early Language and Literacy Initiative and is hosted in partnership with the City, school district, TNRD and Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc social development department.
There will be interactive activities, such as teddy bear activities with School District No. 73 Strong Start, the TNRD Library circus train, Family Zumba with Fit by Design, a garden station, gymnastics with River City and Kamloops Princess Parties, as well as a music station with Lee’s Music. Other activities will be offered by Project X, Kamloops Arts Council’s Rivertown Players, the Kamloops Art Gallery, PacificSport, and the City of Kamloops ECOSmart Team.
Starting at 10 a.m., the picnic will end with the largest Mother Goose circle ever, after which cake will be served at 12:30 p.m.
