August 31, 2016 3:53 P.M.

Justin Donaldson has had quite a debut with the TRU WolfPack soccer.

Donaldson (2nd year, midfield, Kamloops) had four goals in two matches against the Canada West’s two top teams from last year. A goal Saturday, Aug. 27, against defending champion UBC, and then a natural hat trick in the first half of a 4-0 victory over Victoria, has resulted in Donaldson being named the first star in the inaugural Canada West three star awards for the 2016-17 season.

The second star this week is Elijah Adekugbe of the Trinity Western Spartans while the third star is keeper Connor James of University of Alberta Golden Bears.

Donaldson and the rest of the WolfPack have their first road swing of the regular season this weekend. They will be the Spartans at Trinity Western on Friday night (Sept. 2) and University of Fraser Valley Cascades on Saturday night, Sept. 3, in Abbotsford.

Next home action for the WolfPack will be Saturday, Sept. 10, when they entertain UNBC Timberwolves. 1 p.m. at Hillside Stadium.
