Not seen or felt in the region since last weekend, summer weather is forecast to return by Wednesday, Aug. 24, according to Environment Canada.
Days of simmering heat in the 30-C range could soon be a faded memory, though.
Few are complaining about a cool respite that’s brought clouds and the occasional shower to the southern Interior. Those conditions have given firefighters the upper hand while battling blazes in the Kamloops Fire Centre since Sunday.
Temperatures in Kamloops are expected to climb into the mid-20s this afternoon, Aug. 23, and should reach 29 C under sunny skies Wednesday. That’s where they are expected to remain as sunshine prevails through Friday.
The weekend outlook calls for a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 25 C and a 60 percent chance of showers on Saturday. Sunday should bring more of the same, with thermometers reaching just 23 C.
