Chamber of commerce elects new board

Ryan Scorgie of Forward Law is the new president of Kamloops Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber held its annual general meeting Thursday night at South Thompson Inn & Conference Centre. Mayor Peter Milobar swore in the new directors and delivered his annual “state of the City” address.

“Our chamber and our board have never looked stronger,” Scorgie said upon being elected. He formerly served as first vice-president of the chamber.

“We will be continuing to concentrate on our strategic goals this year and on strengthening all levels of our network.”

The new board of directors for 2016/2017:

Executive:

President – Ryan Scorgie, Forward Law LLP

1st Vice President – Paul Ross, Valley First Insurance

2nd Vice President – Joshua Knaak, Canadian Western Bank

Treasurer – Brent Ashby, KPMG

Secretary – Sandy Vollo, Abbott Wealth Management

Immediate Past President – Stephen Earl, Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott
