Another NDP candidate is expected to join the campaign to defeat the Christy Clark Liberals next spring.
Former City councillor Nancy Bepple intends to officially announce her candidacy for the NDP nomination in Kamloops-South Thompson. Bepple has scheduled a news conference for Tuesday, Aug. 30.
On Monday, union activist Barb Nederpel declared her candidacy in Kamloops-North Thompson.
In the Liberal camp, Kamloops-South Thompson MLA Todd Stone has already confirmed that he will seek a second term. MLA Terry Lake, his North Thompson counterpart, has yet to signal his intentions.
Bepple resigned from City council in 2014 due to health issues and fought unsuccessfully to regain her council seat in the civic election later that year.
