The Northern Trailer Travellers are officially changing their name to the HD Parts Bombers.
The move comes after the team received a generous sponsorship from Cory Warner, owner and CEO of HD Parts, a local heavy equipment parts supplier.
“It was an opportunity to partner with a company who is growing, much like the Traveller’s have grown the game of fastpitch in the Thompson Valley,” said Adam Donnelly, Bombers director of player personnel. “We’re incredibly pleased Warner’s HD Parts Ltd. decided to step up and make the Bombers an integral part of their brand.”
Cory Warner, who plays shortstop, and bats 4th for the Bombers is also pleased the team will represent his brand within the southern Interior.
“I’m excited to lend my name to this Fastpitch club moving forward,” Warner said. “It’s a team with a long history of excellence in the city, and region, and to now have my name, and my company’s name associated with such a fantastic group of athletes and individuals is a great opportunity. I've played in the Kamloops fastpitch community since 2001. Fastpitch in Kamloops has given me opportunities to play all over North America with some great teams, and I’ve made many friends along the way. It's my honour to give back in any way I can.”
“We’d like to thank Northern Trailer for the support they’ve offered this franchise over the nearly two decades they’ve been the title sponsor of this organization,” said Donnelly. “We felt, after much deliberation, it was time to update the club’s look, and the name of our team. We’ve had a great run, and hope to continue the success we’ve had, under this new banner, and new leadership.”
