KAC general manager goes for the Joni Mitchell folk look.

Kamloops Arts Council dressed up for its volunteer support night, donning the outfits of favourite artists.

Between volunteer recognition, supporter appreciation and appointment of new board, Georgia O'Keeffe, Bruce Springsteen, Joni Mitchell and David Bowie could be seen making the rounds at St. Andrew's on the Square. Not bad for a not-for-profit AGM, the council’s 48th.

About 50 people attended the event, which included live music by local singer-songwriter Madison Olds, and a traditional honour song from Daryll Laboucan of the Kamloops Aboriginal Friendship Society.

Stephanie Gountas, Melissa Baptiste and Lynne Mugford were recognized as KAC's volunteers of the year. Departing KAC board director Bonnie McLean was acknowledged for four years of service.

The TNRD was recognized for its support of the KAC's Art Exposed, which — with the TNRD's assistance — expanded to become a Regional Exhibition in 2016. TNRD Director Ronaye Elliott was on hand to accept the award.

Domtar, represented by operations manager Dennis Clare, received the corporate recognition award for its sponsorship of the KAC's Art in the Park on Canada Day for the past two years.

The 2016/17 KAC board was appointed::

• Michael O'Brien, President

• David Olds, Vice President

• Daphane Nelson, Treasurer

• Marsha Stewart, Secretary

• Patricia Kellogg, Member at Large

• David Luca, Director

• Bernie Mahoney, Director
